Field Drainage Installation

Standing water kills turf. We install subsurface drainage systems that keep athletic fields, golf courses, and sports turf playable — even after heavy rain.

How Field Drainage Works

Poor drainage is the number one reason athletic fields get shut down after rain. Water that sits on the surface compacts soil, suffocates roots, and creates unsafe playing conditions. Subsurface drainage fixes the problem at the source.

We cut parallel trenches across the field in a grid pattern, install drainage pipe and gravel, backfill, and restore the turf. The system channels water away from the root zone and off the field — so it drains fast and plays dry.

Who Needs Field Drainage

If your field holds water after rain, drainage pays for itself in reduced cancellations and healthier turf.

Athletic Fields

Football, soccer, baseball, and multi-use fields that need to drain fast and play safe after storms.

Golf Courses

Fairways, tee boxes, and greens that stay soggy too long after rain — drainage keeps play on schedule.

Universities & Schools

Campus fields that see heavy use and can't afford rain delays. Keep fields available for practice and games.

Parks & Recreation

Municipal fields and parks that serve the community year-round need reliable drainage to stay playable.

Our Drainage Process

1

Assessment & Layout

We survey the field, identify low spots and problem areas, and design a drainage grid pattern that moves water efficiently off the playing surface.

2

Turf Removal & Trenching

Our crews cut clean, parallel trenches across the field using mini excavators and precision equipment. Existing turf is carefully stripped and set aside for restoration.

3

Pipe & Gravel Install

Perforated drainage pipe is laid in the trenches and backfilled with gravel to create a subsurface channel that pulls water down and away from the root zone.

4

Backfill & Turf Restoration

Trenches are backfilled to grade and the field is restored with fresh sod. We handle the full job — drainage and turf — so you're dealing with one crew.
